Factotum started life as a two-piece side project for Alex…. from his main band project ‘The Bad Joke That Ended Well’ featuring just Guitar, drums and a lot of screaming. The band self recorded their first EP Fortune Teller as well as they're first album Knife Gun. They then organised a couple of UK tours sleeping in the back of their Ford Galaxy at service stations across the country. Following this, the band toured Europe several times, playing shows across France, Germany and Italy sleeping in the back of their Ford Galaxy at - stations-service, stazioni di servizio and some very well appointed Autobahntankstellen.

 

The band then went on to record their next EP at The Malthouse in Bristol. This was released as a split 7” with US band Black Fruit. Following the EP release, Jason from The Bad Joke joined the band on bass, and they recorded ‘Honey Trap’,  the rest is history.
